After obtaining his teaching qualification in religious studies as well as in German language and history studies in Mainz (Germany), Jörg Röder began writing his thesis on the analysis of the aesthetics and narrative character of the figure of Pons Pilate in the Gospel of Luke and in the Acts of Pilate, in the framework of a co-supervision programme between the Universities of Mainz and Lausanne.

  • From 2008 to 2009: lecturer for the teaching of German as a foreign language at the University of Mainz in the framework of the integration courses offered by the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden.
  • From 2009 to 2012: Research associate at the New Testament Chair at the University of Lausanne.
  • Since 2015: Research associate at the New Testament Chair at the University of Basel.
  • 2017 -2019: Coordinator of the INTER-RELIGIO project at the University of Basel. Besides the INTER-RELIGIO project, Jörg Röder has also been working on a project on the literary history of the New Testament and the digital humanities.
  • Since 2021: Research Engineer in the framework of the RELIEN project
