He holds a doctorate in Catholic theology since 1996 <em>(Culture europ\u00e9enne et discours d\u2019\u00c9glise. \u00c9tude des interventions publiques du Saint-Si\u00e8ge aupr\u00e8s des organisations internationales d\u2019Europe occidentale (1945-1991) <\/em>\u00e0 partir d&#8217;un point de vue sociolinguistique) as well as a Master&#8217;s degree in social sciences in 1990 (Paris). He graduated in 2009 from the Cycle des Hautes \u00c9tudes Europ\u00e9ennes of the \u00c9cole Nationale d&#8217;Administration (ENA &#8211; Val\u00e9ry Giscard d&#8217;Estaing promotion). He specialises in political and economic ethics from a social science perspective, and in issues related to the construction of Europe. He is the Delegate for European Affairs at the Diocese of Strasbourg. He is the head of the Research Unit on Catholicism in Alsace (ERCAL) within the faculty, while extending his research fields to the Upper Rhine region.
