The INTER-RELIGIO project is the beneficiary of the INTERREG V Upper Rhine programme, a programme developed by the European Union to support cross-border cooperation between France, Germany and Switzerland.
The projects of the INTERREG programme cover a wide range of themes and are selected to respond to a strategy specifically created for this territory. INTER-RELIGIO is part of the first specific objective of the programme: to increase cross-border capacities for advanced research and innovation in the Upper Rhine.
The INTER-RELIGIO project, which began on 1 January 2017, has been co-financed by the European Union on the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) for three years. The INTERREG programme operates on the principle of reimbursement of expenses. INTER-RELIGIO does not benefit from an overall budget: universities incur the expenses related to the creation of the project and are then reimbursed 50%.
INTER-RELIGIO also integrates funding from the universities of Strasbourg, Heidelberg, Tübingen and Basel; Basel-Stadt (NPR / CTE) and Basel-Country (NPR / CTE) Cantons in Switzerland and Inter-Cantonal Coordination Service for the Regio-Basiliensis (IKRB).
