About ten participants, with a wide variety of profiles, were attending the back-to-school meeting of the European Master’s degree “Interreligieux et société” and were present at the presentation of this course coordinated by Mr Denis Fricker, Dean of the Catholic Theology Faculty and Professor at the University of Strasbourg.
This Master’s degree, developed as part of the INTER-RELIGIO project, welcomed its new students to the Palais Universitaire building. Labeled by the EUCOR network – The European Campus, the course focuses on the knowledge and practice of interreligious dialogue. It is intended for students interested in an approach to religious facts and who already have previous knowledge in theology, history of religions or human and social sciences. This course, unique in the public university landscape, focuses on understanding the interreligious dialogue. It was brought to Strasbourg by the Faculty of Catholic Theology, which has two main courses:
The international “Interreligious Studies” course, with a supplement to the national Master’s degree, open to students who have validated at least 30 ECTS in the joint programs of the partner universities of Heidelberg or Basel, and therefore requires minimum language skills in German. It is carried by the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Strasbourg. In Heidelberg, the training is led by the Diakoniewissenschaftlichen Instituts of the University of Heidelberg, and in Basel by the Theologische Fakultät. This course offers the opportunity to enrol in one of the three partner universities and to follow the courses given at the three sites.
The Strasbourg course « Études interreligieuses » accessible to mainly French-speaking students and gives access to the national Master’s degree.
Registration is open from 5th July to 30th September 2019 for both courses. For more information, please contact the pedagogical secretariat in charge of the training.
