INTER-RELIGIO Colloquium in Basel on October 10, 11 and 12, 2019

The INTER-RELIGIO project organizes international conferences to present to the wider public the progress of cross-border research on interreligious dialogue. The first colloquium was organised in October 2018 by the University of Heidelberg on the subject: “Forms and functions of the interreligious”. Last November, a second conference was held at the University of Strasbourg on the theme of the academic status of theology.

The universities of Basel and Tübingen will jointly organize the third symposium on the theme “Christian and Islamic Hermeneutics in Dialogue”.

This conference organized by Professeur Vimercati, Dr. Beate Bengard and the coordinator of the project in SWitzerland Jörg Röder – aims to highlight specific developments in hermeneutics, define corresponding hermeneutical research approaches in an interreligious context, in a collaborative spirit. It will give the floor to representatives of the different religions who will discuss the similarities and singularities between the confessions, as well as the opportunity to transform them into a fruitful interreligious dialogue.
