On 11 and 12 June 2021, a European seminar on Islamology was held in Paris under the direction of Emmanuel Pisani (ISTR, Institut Catholique de Paris), entitled “Dynamics and stakes of the renaissance of Islamology in Europe. A human science facing public demands and community expectations”. On 11 June, in the framework of the second sequence on “Studying Islam across borders. Some recent research experiences (Research actions)”, Professor Francis Messner as Director of the RELIEN presented the project and its new training courses in the promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue. The presentation focused on the questions to what extent the RELIEN project contributes to the broadening of the target groups’ knowledge of religious and social history and to what extent the training contributes to the promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue in the Upper Rhine region.
